Kristen is from the Columbus area, where she went to school in Powell. She went to college at Otterbein in Westerville, OH and graduated with an Organizational Communication degree. She put herself through college by doing finance/accounting for several franchises. She moved to Cincinnati when her husband was transferred with his job in 2004 when her boys were just 2 and 4 and has been there ever since. She is currently the Township Administrator for Liberty Township. She also owns Grace Tree Yoga Studio, which she took over in the midst of COVID in July 2020 – it has been one of the best experiences of her life! It’s where she found her passion for yoga. She has grown the business exponentially and says, “it’s so exciting to see it flourish”!
Kristen has been working on her health with Lyn and Jeff Hogrefe at Happy Hormone Cottage for years
and has always been impressed with their knowledge and passion for helping people. She knew that Lyn started a foundation, but when cancer personally hit her family that is when she became really interested in getting involved and helping to spread the word about alternatives.
Kristen wants to serve on the WHIF Advisory Board because her mom was diagnosed 3 years ago with cervical cancer that has metastasized to her skin. Kristen says her mom did not seek alternative options, she listened to the doctors who told her not to take supplements and took her down a rough path that still has not improved her cancer. She wants to be part of something that empowers women to stand up for themselves, ask the questions, challenge the ‘experts’ and listen to their bodies. She wants to support women and encourage them in all these ways. She wants to see women have options for treatments, not just those driven by pharmaceutical companies. She knows there is a better way and wants to be a part of the change.
Kristen is passionate about the mind, body, and spiritual connection that we all have innately within us, and she feels we have to tune in, remove the distractions, and listen to our own intuition. She has learned so much from her training and personal experience with yoga and her own health issues that she wants to help others along their journey.
Kristen resides in West Chester with her amazing husband, Jim, who supports her in all facets of life. They have two boys who attend Miami University/Oxford – one is a senior this year and the other is a sophomore. They could not be prouder of the men they have grown up to be and cannot wait to see all the awesome things they do. They also have two miniature Aussiepoos (Australian Shepard/Poodle mix) and love them dearly.
Kristen loves yoga and all things holistic health, spiritual and wellness. She enjoys spending time in nature and being with her family and friends.
